Surviving the tests of time, El Ideal Bakery and Refreshments stands strong in the heart of Silay City in Negros Occidental.
Established in the 1920′s by Mr. Cesar Locsin y Lacson, it’s the best place to rest and unwind after visiting and looking at all the old houses and museums in the city. A historical landmark in itself, the family-run business is a definite must-visit.

I’ve heard from friends that Bob’s fruit punch is something I should write about here. Well, I’m glad to say that during my last Bacolod trip, I was able to visit Bob’s and I agree – this one’s a definite must-try.
It’s basically a watermelon punch with chunks of pineapple, peach, watermelon and bits of buko. I was not able to fully deconstruct the ingredients, but I promise to do next time.

I was back in Bacolod last week for the MassKara Festival 2010 and of course, for more thirsty adventures.
One of them, a trip back to 21 Restaurant and this time, I took the chef’s recommendation and ordered their Buko Lychee fruit shake.
