To compliment my previous post on Visita Iglesia churches, I thought I’d share with you my Guimaras Island trip last January.

If you’re going to Guimaras Island, you’d have to go take a boat from Parola (to get to Buenavista) or Ortiz Port (to get to Jordan). Tourists typically take the Jordan Port route which is a 10-minute ferry ride from Iloilo City.

If you find yourself in Iloilo City, don’t go around town looking for Starbucks because there’s a better alternative, the homegrown coffee chain – Coffeebreak.

Believe me when I say that you can find a branch near you almost everywhere, even at the Iloilo airport. And they serve not only the usual cafes, smoothies and frappes – but pastries and cakes as well.
