I recently went to San Juan, Batangas and found myself going to this place for a quick lunch.
San Juan is a small, quiet town, that’s why it’s surprising to find a fancy place like this there.
Old San Juan Resort, Restaurant & Recreation is an old house along Javier St., Poblacion, San Juan, Batangas. It’s been renovated to become a snack bar for students on the first floor, and a fine dining restaurant at the second floor.
Interestingly, they also have a spa and coffee shop there, where one can relax and have cozy conversations with friends and family.
The menu is a bit expensive when you compare it to the local restaurants, but if you’re from Manila, then it’s definitely at par with the city prices.
The food is actually nice, and the servings are hefty. I ordered for a pansit canton, together with this Iced Tea Shake.
I wish I could write more about this place, but my time was a bit hectic that day. So perhaps next time.
If you’re going to Laiya for a beach vacation, and you’re looking for a place to eat nearby, then Old San Juan should be on top of your list. That much I can say.
